For Schools, Businesses, and Community Organizations/Groups
More than anything, our model provides a client-centered approach to values alignment within an organization/group. Utilizing a combination of principles from occupational science, neuroscience, and other human sciences, we support organizations build daily routines, policies, and habits that mend the naturally occurring incongruence that develops between organizational identity and logistics as an organization moves through it’s life cycle. Our outcome measures are built from each organizations values/identity, so organizations become more themselves through the Human Sense process.
What does that process look like?
Step 0: Relationship. We partner with organizations through developing authentic, meaningful relationships that can fuel the process. We start relationships with clear communication about who we are and how/if that aligns with an organization’s identity. If the relationship is a fit, we build and facilitate the process of growth/change through that relationship.
Step 1: Situation. As Occupational Therapists (OT), we use our OT background to inform the Human Sense process. This starts with answering foundational questions about the organization: Who are we? What do we do? Where do we do it? How do we do it? Who is involved? AND How’s that going?
Step 2: Identity. Establish core organizational truths (values, qualities). Foster shared commitment and accountability to these truths across all organizational levels.
Step 3: Task Analysis. A process of assessing all the factors internal and external affecting the stability/integration of those truths within the current system across all levels within functional routines.
Step 4: Integrate. Build roles, routines, and habits informed by the truths. Build skills for communication, relationships, and growth by developing shared understanding and language anchored in human sciences through formal education, in-vivo training, and mentorship.
Step 5: Sustain. Build organization-level systems (policies, procedures) through administrative mentorship informed by the truths, multi-level data collection, and human science principles to ensure sustainable changes and growth aligned with organization values.
